There are a number of groups currently based at the Brackenhall Centre, providing services and activities for all age groups within the local community.
Ambitious plans are also being developed to replace the existing Community Centre and church with a purpose built facility in a more central location.
The new £2 million centre is to be built on Holt Avenue alongside the recreation area and will include:
Main Hall, Café, Meeting Space, Changing Rooms, Church and an IT Suite.
This new centre is being designed to accommodate all the groups from the existing Brackenhall Community Centre and will provide additional space and facilities for new groups and services.
The plans for the new Brackenhall Community Centre include a new senior football pitch, a junior football pitch and a multi-use games area.
The DBI Ltd and Kirklees Council are supporting and working closely with the Brackenhall Community Trust. This is a new organisation which will commission, own and manage the new building and associated facilities. The Brackenhall Community Trust is made up of existing centre users, community members, church members and others nominated by the DBI Ltd Board.
